Location: Zambezi River , Impalia Island, Zambia
While near the Zambezi River we visited a small village on Impalia Island where several villagers welcomed us with a native dance near the village meeting tree. The dance was energetic and fluid. Both men and women danced using foot stomping and clapping while shaking their booties and singing to keep the timing of the dance. Several of the women carried infants in slings on their back. A couple of the members of our tour joined the dancers and practiced the hip moves of the dance
About The Photographer
I am a fairly new photographer, definitely an amateur. I use a Nikon P900 and Nikon P950. My focus is bird and animal photography, always trying to get a better shot! My husband and I are birders and have found that birding takes us to some phenomenal places and gives us the opportunity to see many diverse cultures, landscapes and animals in addition to the birds we seek. We have just completed our National Park Bucket list by visiting all 63 US National Parks, all 50 states and 7 continents. We are looking forward to some quality bird photo opportunities next year as we tour with Nat Hab to Costa Rica and Australia. There are still many places to explore and we can’t wait!Vote for this photo in the Nat Hab's 2024 Guest Photo Contest People’s Choice Awards! You can vote once per day, and each time you vote you’ll be entered for the chance to win a $500 Visa Gift Card or a $500 WWF Donation.
