Species: African Warthog | Location: Linyanti, Botswana
Photo of male warthog taken during a NatHab walking safari in Linyanti on June 3, 2019.
I'm submitting this really because I think warthogs often get short-shrift! On our Secluded Botswana Safari in 2019, my husband and I both fell unexpectedly in love with warthogs and their antics, yet I NEVER see flattering pictures of them! This jaunty fellow was a magnificent specimen with his powerful build, lovely topline, flowing mane and upright tail; and exhibited the unique physicality AND the cocky nature of the big males! I hope this photo captures that - it's my favorite from our trip.
