Species: Beluga Whale | Location: Churchill River, Canada
My mom and I took a very special mother-daughter trip to Churchill with Nat Hab this summer. I had gotten a 360-degree camera with a waterproof dive housing before the trip to try to capture as much as I could of Churchill’s canaries of the sea. While kayaking in the Churchill River holding the camera underwater, I suddenly felt a tug. My head spun around to see one of the belugas nudging and biting the camera! She stuck around with us for quite some time, thoroughly checking out the strange device with her baby by her side.
