Species: Alaskan Brown Bear | Location: Bear Camp, Lake Clark National Park, Ak, United States Of America
As a bear cub approached, our guide made it clear where the boundaries were when approaching humans, and that any disciplinary actions would be handled by mother. This made for a uniquely exciting experience and an amazing photo opportunity!
About The Photographer
Ever since my first photography class at Loyola Marymount University more than 45 years ago, I have loved creating artistic photographic images. There I learned how to control the image-making process from initial concept to the final print. My photographic history began with my grandfather who was a still photographer for the movie studios in the Culver City and Hollywood areas from the 1930’s to 1950’s. I now continue his legacy using digital cameras beginning in 2002 during a workshop in Yosemite National Park and since then I have experienced a renewed enthusiasm and creativity for photography as an art form. Now a computer is my darkroom giving me more control over the creative process to accurately convey memories and emotions. The magnificence of our National Parks have become a favorite subject matter with the beauty of the mountains, deserts, and wildlife providing endless subjects.Vote for this photo in the Nat Hab's 2024 Guest Photo Contest People’s Choice Awards!
