Species: Jaguar Panthera Onca | Location: The Pantanal, Brazil
This jaguar seemed to make eye contact with me through my camera lens as she was spotted along a riverbank in the Pantanal region of Brazil, near Porto Joffre. Quite comfortable in the water, they are often observed at water's edge during the dry season. The foliage being used for concealment through which this one observed the river made a nice frame for a portrait of this apex predator as she surveyed her field of view with an intimidating and potentially lethal stare!
