Species: Spirit Bear (Ursus Americanus Kermodei) | Location: Great Bear Rainforest, British Columbia, Canada
Sometimes it’s best to lower the camera and just enjoy the show as a spirit bear patiently waits for the right salmon to swim by.
We had the privilege to encounter a beautiful Spirit Bear named Ma'ha in October 2019. She became famous when Paul Nicklen feature her in the Nat Geo magazine in 2011. We might have been the last group to encounter Ma'ah in the wild, she was about 20 years old at the time.
About The Photographer
The beauty and diversity of animals and their behaviors have always captivated me, which has led to my lifelong commitment to conservation and habitat protection. As a photographer, I hope to share the marvel that is nature and wildlife with others. Traveling with Nat Hab over the years gave me the opportunity to learn about animals, conservation issues and photography.Follow Greg on Instagram: @TrekLightly
