Species: Jaguar | Location: Pantanal, Brazil
Along with at least a dozen other guided boats, our Nat Hab group followed this jaguar almost a mile along the Cuiba River. It hunted the riverside calmly, unperturbed by (and habituated to) the boats. When a small wake from the movement of several boats hit the shore, the jaguar leapt, sprinted and splashed down the shoreline. We presume the jaguar expected a caiman to be the cause of the water's sudden movement.
