Species: African Wild Dog | Location: Mala Mala Game Reserve, South Africa
Taken on a rainy day in MalaMala while on the Hidden South Africa Photo Safari in Oct 2021. Our local guide/driver, Liam did an outstanding job in not only keeping up with the dogs traveling over 40 mph but also getting us into position for photos like this one.
African wild dogs are listed as endangered on the IUCN Red List and have been since 1990. Their numbers continue to decrease due to a range of factors, including habitat fragmentation, human-wildlife conflict, and infectious diseases.
About The Photographer
The beauty and diversity of animals and their behaviors have always captivated me, which has led to my lifelong commitment to conservation and habitat protection. As a photographer, I hope to share the marvel that is nature and wildlife with others. Traveling with Nat Hab over the years gave me the opportunity to learn about animals, conservation issues and photography.Follow Greg on Instagram: @TrekLightly
