Meet the jury
Richard de Gouveia
Specializing in wildlife photography, Rich finds reward in teaching others how to capture beautiful images while deepening their understanding of their equipment and surroundings. Through his photography, Rich aims to preserve nature and raise awareness about wildlife conservation, believing in the power of storytelling through images.
Court Whelan
Court’s background in wildlife and conservation biology led him to pursue a joint PhD in ecotourism and entomology, while simultaneously coordinating and guiding small-group wildlife expeditions and ecotourism adventures around the world. A professional nature and wildlife photographer, Court's self-described photographic style is considerably varied, with wildlife photography taking center stage.
Giulia Ciampini
As an expedition leader in Churchill, Manitoba, Giulia Ciampini brings her expertise and passion for the natural world to guiding guests through the breathtaking experiences of the Arctic frontier. Based in Ontario, she holds an Honors B.S. in Biological Sciences from the University of Toronto, a M.S. in Education from D’Youville College, and a MFA in Documentary Photography & Film from Ryerson University.
Dana Cama
Dana studied photography at Parsons School of Design, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and minored in environmental science. As a freelance photographer, she worked globally, telling visual stories of wildlife and people. Dana sells her photography prints to fund conservation projects across the US, leveraging her social media skills to engage communities passionate about conservation.
Mike Hillman
As the Photo Expeditions Director for Natural Habitat Adventures, Mike is dedicated to helping travelers capture the natural world through photography. Deeply passionate about wildlife, his career spans across numerous zoos and nature-based institutions. An avid photographer from a young age, Mike’s photographic work primarily focuses on wildlife and landscapes, and is known for his thoughtful use of compositional techniques, a subject he’s presented on extensively. Based in Tucson AZ, he is an active member of Club Camera Tucson and uses nearby Saguaro National Park as endless inspiration for his work.
