Species: Dune Lark | Location: Sossusvlei, Namibia
Five of us (including Nat Hab Guide Abner Simeon) tried for two hours without success to spot a Dune Lark (Namibia’s only endemic bird) amid the sands of Sossusvlei. We settled for tracks of various desert critters, including the lark. Even the non-birders among us found the experience fascinating — and good exercise!
