Species: Coastal Brown Bear | Location: Katmai National Park, United States Of America
These are two Katmai brown bear siblings. The brother was very protective of his sister and was always resting his chin on her head.
Adult bears at Katmai are assigned a number for identification. For cubs the mother’s number is used along with junior and gender if known until they are older and get their own number.
The two in this photo are 273’s cubs.
Their fur is so plush and thick and I do like the smile on the brother’s face.
Seeing the coastal brown bears at Brooks Falls was the absolute highlight of a fantastic trip to Alaska with NatHab.
