Ring Necked Kingfisher
Species: Ring Necked Kingfisher | Location: Amazon Rainforest, Peru
I've never been much of a birder, but traveling to Africa has changed my point of view slightly. One of my favorite birds is the Kingfisher, pretty much any variety of Kingfisher. This was on our trip to Machu Picchu and the Amazon. This was taken on a night excursion on the river in the Amazon. This beautiful bird sat perched long enough to get the shot.
About The Photographer
I am truly an amateur photographer. I love taking pictures on our adventures of nature, scenery and wildlife. I honestly only take pictures while on vacation, so I'm always hoping to get some good shots. I've been fortunate in our travels with Nat Hab to have amazing guides who are so willing to help with camera settings. I can honestly say, I've learned a lot.
