Species: Brown Bear | Location: Katmai National Park., United States Of America
Mama Bear Lois passes by not much more than 15’ from us. Brad, our exceptional expedition leader, informed us that the previous group had named her “Lois.” We were honored that Lois had graced us with her presence so often on our bear viewing experience. Along the coast of Katmai National Park.

About The Photographer
My enthusiasm for photography began way back when I received my first brownie box camera as a kid. I went through many rolls of film documenting family vacations and events and much loved family pets. Over the years my love of photography has evolved from taking “snapshots” to an appreciation of composition and technique. I consider myself an amateur photographer who is continuously learning and expanding my skills. I enjoy shooting wildlife, landscapes, birds, insects, flowers and “nature” in general which is the central reason my husband and I travel with Nat Hab!Vote for this photo in the Nat Hab's 2024 Guest Photo Contest People’s Choice Awards! You can vote once per day, and each time you vote you’ll be entered for the chance to win a $500 Visa Gift Card or a $500 WWF Donation.
