Species: White Rhinoceros | Location: Mosi Oa Tunya National Park In Zambia, Zambia
This photograph of a mother white rhino and her 22 day old calf was taken on a guided hike on our Zambia/Botswana Safari in 2019, with Vic our Natural Habitat guide. The local rhino protectors followed this group of rhinos 24 hrs/day and 7 days per week. They knew the age of the calf, as Mama rhino had kept her baby out of sight until our safari walk that day. What a thrill! I took the photo on June 23, 2019 at approximately 8am with a Fujifilm XT-2 camera with a 100-400 zoom lens at approximately 218 mm at ISO 200, F/16 and 1/75 second (6000 x 4000 px; 15mb). Wild babies are so cute!
