Here's Lookin' At Ya!
Species: Three Toed Sloth | Location: Mariola's Trail At The La Fortuna Hikes And Trails Reserve, San Carlos, Costa Rica
Our group was on the Sendero Las Mariolas at La Fortuna, a private reserve where farmland was converted to jungle just a few years ago. Claudio, the owner, spotted this sloth slightly off the path and motioned me to quietly follow him where he was on his way up to the canopy. He paused a moment to look me in the eye, and I took the shot.
