Species: Grizzly Bear | Location: Katmai National Park, United States Of America
No one in our group noticed this large male bear sneaking up to the right of us. As he emerges from the rocks, dripping wet from his swim over the island, our guide Brad stands up, letting the bear know that we’re checking him out.
However, this bear has eyes only for the young female bear we have been observing on the beach. She saw him before we did. As such a young female, she has no interest in mating with this older male bear, and so she runs toward the cliffs.
The male bear calmly follows her scent, passing right in front of us and up the beach to our left, and leaving us to look around in wonder at this bewitchingly beautiful place and this beach in front of us that has just been full of magnificent bears.
About The Photographer
I have been photographing wildlife since I was 11, fascinated by turkey vultures flying overhead in my summer holidays. Since then I've taken every photography course I could from film to digital and from photo history to photo editing. I even wrote photo editing software for PicMonkey. Photography is my obsession.Follow Georgina on Instagram: @georgie_maud
