Species: Leopard | Location: Okavango Delta, Botswana
Upon returning to our camp placed in the middle of the Okavango Delta, our guide wanted to make sure we checked a specific tree that earlier in the day was vacant. The sun was setting on the Botswana landscape transforming it into a canvas a vibrant color. As our group approached the tree, and our guide positioned us snug into the brush everything went dead silent. Perched so gracefully on the sturdy branches was a Mother Leopard. Her two cubs who resembled little children in a way, fighting over some food off to the side wanted no part of their mother's elegance. Her eyes stared deep into our group as if she was studying us while at the same time warning us to stay back. This captured moment portrays serene beauty and primal strength, leaving a lasting impression of nature's wonder.
