Species: African Lion | Location: Moremi, Botswana
Hot afternoon. We came across a few lionesses laying in the meager shade of some trees. A bit later about five other lionesses joined the group, some of them with blood on their faces and bodies. Then, the familiar face and body rubbing of a feline reunion ensued. It was clearly comforting to them all, and beautiful to witness. What had all these females been through together?
