Species: Many Banded Aracari | Location: La Selva Lodge In The Napo River Region, Ecuador
During our stay at the La Selva Lodge in the Ecuadorian Upper Amazon, we were fortunate to spend several hours with our local guide in the tree top viewing tower at 220 feet above the jungle floor. We were there during a gray overcast day with intermittent rain but the birds did not disappoint. This picture is cropped to show the beautiful colors of the Many-banded Aracari and a troop of 7-8 were flying in and out of the trees. The picture above actually shows 3 birds with the third hiding in the lower left. Truly blessed to have spent such quality time at the top of the trees.
