Species: Monarch Butterfly | Location: Angangueo, El Rosario Butterfly Sanctuary, Mexico
We traveled with NatHab to see the monarch butterfly wintering grounds in Mexico, and though they are hard to photograph, it was a phenomenal sight to witness, even in a year when the numbers, we later learned, were relatively low. Watching them stir then fly as the sun warmed the cluster was magical.
