A Mother’s Transportation
Species: Lioness And Her Cub | Location: Gomoti, Botswana
What a treat on our last afternoon game drive at Gomoti. Our leader got word of an awesome sight and we were off! A lioness was moving her two cubs to a new hidey-hole. My sister and I noted that she carried her cub just like our farm cats carried their kittens - by the scruff of the neck. The lioness paused a few times gently putting the cub down and then it was picked up again. A few minutes later she settled into their shelter where the other cub was already resting. We got to observe them nursing the following morning. Amazing!
