Back To The Den
Species: Lion | Location: Okavango Gomoti Camp, Botswana
We watched this lioness and her cubs for quite awhile. When we first encountered them, the cubs were nursing. We watched them nurse and then the lioness groomed herself and the cubs. After she was done, mama took the opportunity to walk away from the den to use the bathroom. While she was away, a couple of the cubs decided to explore a bit. When mama came back, she picked one of them up to bring him back to the den and the other followed along. It was fun seeing the same behavior in the wild animals as we see in our domestic cats.
