Species: Male Lion | Location: East Central Serengeti, Tanzania, United Republic Of
We watched this beautiful black-maned lion, affectionately known as “Bob Marley”, throughout the day in the Serengeti. We watched him eat a warthog, killed by the lionesses earlier in the day, then saw him laying in this field at 5:30 pm when I took this photo
About The Photographer
I'm just an amateur photographer that has always loved taking photos. Prior to our first trip with Nat Hab, which was an African safari, I bought my first "good" camera which was an "advance point and shoot". I thought I'd need a HUGE zoom lens to photograph the animals from a distance. I had no idea I'd be so close to the lions, elephants, zebras, etc. I've upgraded my camera since then, but it's still considered an "advance point and shoot". I love taking photos during our trips so when I look back at the pictures, it quickly takes me back to a wonderful experience. I don't have any formal training as a photographer but have received many helpful tips from various Nat Hab guides and several of Court's webinars.Vote for this photo in the Nat Hab's 2024 Guest Photo Contest People’s Choice Awards! You can vote once per day, and each time you vote you’ll be entered for the chance to win a $500 Visa Gift Card or a $500 WWF Donation.
