Species: Chestnut Eared Aracari | Location: Porto Jofre Region Of The Pantanal, Near Hotel Pantanal Norte Lodge, Brazil
This aracari was at a feeding station at the Hotel Pantanal Norte Lodge in Porto Jofre. The bird stayed only briefly as it appeared to be intimidated by the nearby Toco toucans that were significantly larger. It is hard to believe such a bird exists and I'm glad I was able to get this simple profile with a nice background. It was one of my favorite of the many new (to me) birds I saw in the Pantanal. The skies were quite smoky when we were in the Pantanal which made photography a bit more challenging as the lighting was less than ideal. I had to adjust my camera settings accordingly.
