Species: Cheetah | Location: Mara East Camp Private Mara Conservancy, Kenya
These young cheetahs were two of three companions hunting together in the Mara Conservancy. Our guide reported that these youngsters were thought to be siblings and had been hunting together for several weeks. From a distance, we saw the group try to take down a Topi. Although unsuccessful, they gave this large prey a respectable chase. The vibrant amber color of their coats blended perfectly with the grasses of the savannah providing a unique pattern of camouflage.
About The Photographer
I'm an amateur photographer with a love for wildlife and the natural world, specializing in capturing the beauty and diversity of our environment. Recently, my focus has shifted to bird photography, where I find inspiration in documenting the behaviors and details of all species that I encounter. My involvement with our local raptor rehabilitation facility has added depth to my work, allowing me to connect with these incredible birds on a meaningful level. Through my lens, I aim to tell the story of nature’s resilience and inspire a greater appreciation for wildlife conservation.Vote for this photo in the Nat Hab's 2024 Guest Photo Contest People’s Choice Awards!
