Lovers' Gaze
Species: Alaskan Brown Bears | Location: Katmai National Park, Alaska, United States Of America
One of our first bear encounters in Katmai was of a courting pair. I was amazed how affectionate they were with each other, and how long they stayed together! They'd roll around, play-bite, and sniff each other, but they also would simply sit together, seemingly just enjoying each other's company. This shot is my favorite of the ones I took of them, calling to mind Disney's "Lady and the Tramp" in the way the female gazes at her handsome suitor.
