Species: Ursus Maritimus | Location: Churchill Wildlife Management Area, Canada
Several Polar Bears were spotted the second full-day on the Wildlife Management Area. In the afternoon the Rover came upon a Polar Bear that appeared to be sleeping. We waited taking photos of the bear slumped down in the snow. After what seemed like an eternity the bear began to stir and eventually posed for the photo looking straight at the camera. The bear was lying in the snow with sparse darker vegetation behind that contrasted the white of the bear and snow. Also, we were lucky that the bear decided to wake up and look directly at the Rover.
