Species: Golden Mantled Ground Squirrel | Location: St Mary's Falls In Glacier National Park, United States Of America
While at St. Mary's Falls in Glacier National Park, I captured an image of this cute, curious squirrel. Unfortunately, tourists were feeding him chips and whatever else they had to offer. The reason this is so bad is he will come to expect tourists to feed him and will likely starve to death during the winter months as he wasn't storing food for the winter.
About The Photographer
I became interested in nature photography and traveling following a cancer diagnosis in 2013. The diagnosis and subsequent treatment made me realize I never pursued my passion to travel and capture images of scenery that have a profound effect on me. Ten years later, I strive to capture a particular mood or the feeling of amazement at what I'm seeing and experiencing at the moment. I internalize and feel every image I capture. I'm working on improving my technical skills and hope some day to publish images that cause people to want to explore the world and take meaningful actions to preserve nature's fragile beauty.Vote for this photo in the Nat Hab's 2024 Guest Photo Contest People’s Choice Awards!
