Species: Bengal Tiger | Location: Kanha National Park, India
After the amazing encounter with the juvenile male tiger drinking from the pond in a separate photo, things only got amazingly better when his mother appeared, they walked side by side, and then he nuzzled her with affection. Shortly thereafter, his brother came trotting out of the distance and the three of them crossed our road and disappeared in the underbrush. The whole experience lasted about five minutes. As I mentioned in another photo, several in our group slept in that morning after a long week of tracking tigers and only another couple and I - along with our driver and amazing guide - were privileged to have this encounter.
