Species: Night (Or Owl) Monkeys | Location: Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, Nauta Cano Creek, Peru
This shot captures three Night (or Owl) Monkeys curiously peering out of their borrow in a tree at the folks passing by in a skiff. It was taken in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, on the Nauta Cano Creek, which is a part of the Headwaters of the Amazon River in Peru. I couldn't help but laugh when a friend suggested they looked as if they were saying "we hear no evil, see no evil or speak no evil." Being from New England, I was continually amazed at the diversity of wildlife in the Amazon, reaffirming the importance of protecting that area.
