Species: Polar Bear | Location: Churchill, Canada
This shot was captured in Churchill, Manitoba, Canada. It captures a mama Polar Bear with her cub at sunset. They were part of a gathering of bears waiting on the coast for ice to form over Hudson Bay, so they could move out onto the ice to hut seals. Sadly, due to global warming, the ice is forming later and melting earlier each year, thus endangering the existence of these majestic creatures. The cub, looking over mom's shoulders, made me wonder what the future will be like for this little guy.
