About The Photographer

Cropped bette
Bette A Warn Photographer I don’t remember exactly when I began my love of photography, but it was at a very early age. My father influenced me with his passion for photography and through his development of his own film and printing of his negatives. Later in my life I took college classes in photography and attended many photo workshops where I was able to improve my skills. Learning photography is a never-ending journey. I particularly love landscape scenery with its diverse flora, fauna and geological topography, the brilliant colors of the high-country meadow flowers and tundra. When I travel to new places and experience the beauty and magnificence of that place, I always want others to have the same magical experience. So, I photograph not only to document for my personal remembrance but also to create the opportunity for others to experience it vicariously through my photos. Using my website offers me the greatest opportunity to share. I focus primarily on landscape photography because it is ever changing either through time or in different climates, seasons and light. The awe and grandeur of this world just continues to cause me to appreciate the gift God has given us in this marvelous planet. Although I say I concentrate on landscape, I also enjoy and appreciate the birds, animals and flowers that compliment this world. When I have an occasion I get a particular pleasure in photographing people of different cultures, ages and seasons of life. It reminds me that we are all children of God no matter what our life circumstances or culture we live in. I also have photographed animals and seascapes under the sea. That type of photography allowed me to explore a new and wonderous world that many do not have the privilege of experiencing. And of course, photographing family events creates rewarding memories of an ever-growing and expanding family. I have used a variety of cameras and have transitioned from film to digital. For underwater I began with a Nikonus V moved to a Nikon N90 and from there to digital cameras including Nikon D2X and Canon G12. For land photography I use Nikon, which I have used multiple film, DSL and mirrorless models. Today I am currently photographing with the Nikon Z9 and D850. I have used a variety of lens and filters to capture the essence and beauty of subjects. The lenses that are always in my backpack are 28-300mm, 18-70mm, 12-24mm, 50mm and 200-500mm.
