Polar Bears At The Lodge
Species: Polar Bears | Location: Outside The Tundra Lodge In Churchill, Manitoba, Canada
By Robert Burke
This female polar bear was awakened by the scent of a male near the willows in front of the Tundra Lodge in Churchill, Canada. She moved to a safer spot in the kettle pond, and the male came to where she was lying, sniffed around, then headed towards her new location. About The Photographer
I am an accomplished photographer, non-professional, and owe much of my ability to self-study and engagement with the professional photographers and other travelers I've met on Lindblad and NatHab trips. Mostly I photograph landscapes, wildlife, and moments that I want to capture during my travels. Since my retirement as a pediatrician, global travel has been a passion for my wife Bonnie and myself. I use my favorite photographs to create a personal photo journey book after each adventure, and to share in travel articles that I write for our local newspaper. Many of these adventures formed the basis for the "Buddy the Globetrotter" tales I have authored as a juvenile fiction series for middle school and advanced readers.
