Nat Hab's 2024 Guest Photo Contest

Jaguar, Cuiaba River, Porto Jofre, Brazil
The Brave

Species: Jaguar | Location: Cuiaba River, Porto Jofre, Brazil

This jaguar was rescued following the fires in the Pantanal in 2019. Its paws were burned in the fire so the rescuers grafted fish skin to its paws. It was in a rehab center for a year and half to determine if it could be returned to the wild. This beautiful jaguar not only survived it is thriving in the wild. I was advised they would remove the collar "soon". They named this jaguar "The Brave".

About The Photographer

Gary, my husband of 51 years, has loved photography since before we were married. On one of our trips I decided I needed to learn how to start taking photos - what an adventure. Photography opens ones eyes to light, beauty and visions you would never see unless you start looking.
