Species: Sally Lightfoot Crab | Location: Isla Santiago In The Galapagos Islands, Ecuador
Sally Lightfoot Crabs can be found throughout the Galapagos Island and make wonderful photo subjects due to the brilliant red coloring of the adults. They are important parts of the ecosystem as they are scavengers that clean the beach of organic debris and eat ticks off of marine iguanas. They are said to be named after a Caribbean dancer due to their ability to hop between and run along rocks in all directions.
