Species: Mountain Gorilla | Location: Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda, Rwanda
On the second day, after a true African jungle trek we were rewarded with our one hour of shared time with a family of mountain gorillas. Mothers, babies, and of course the male Silver Backs. The interactions and group dynamics were inspiring, all at a pace we could learn from. In all my travels to the Artic, Antarctic, Africa, North and South America, and Asia, I have not felt a deeper connection with wildlife than those two days
About The Photographer
I started into 35mm film photography, inspired by my grandfather. Through late high school and college, I shot family and other life experiences. Then for years, family, career, and life in general just took over my energy. With time I went back, first in SLR film, then digital. Retirement brought more adventures and travel with wonderful photographic opportunities.Vote for this photo in the Nat Hab's 2024 Guest Photo Contest People’s Choice Awards!
