Nat Hab's 2024 Guest Photo Contest

, Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda, Rwanda
“In The Thick Of It”

Location: Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda, Rwanda

On a trek to find a family of mountain gorilla. Challenged by distance, vertical ascents and descents, pushing through dense jungle vegetation but guided by park rangers and aided by hired day porters, we made our way.

Natural Habitat proved valuable in two ways, our guide boosted our “family” selection for each day’s hike and provided useful pre-trip guidance on clothing and gloves to bring. We were the envy of our follow trekkers.

About The Photographer

Cropped 100415 2839
I started into 35mm film photography, inspired by my grandfather. Through late high school and college, I shot family and other life experiences. Then for years, family, career, and life in general just took over my energy. With time I went back, first in SLR film, then digital. Retirement brought more adventures and travel with wonderful photographic opportunities.
