Homo sapiens, Katmai National Park, Alaska. Hallo Bay, United States Of America
Exploring The Mud Flats At Low Tide, Hallo Bay

Species: Homo Sapiens | Location: Katmai National Park, Alaska. Hallo Bay, United States Of America

It was our last morning in Hallo Bay. After a couple days of rain, this morning had glorious sunshine. We had time before our flight out to explore the mud flats around Ninagiak Island at low tide. We had just had a wonderful encounter with a mother brown bear and her cub digging for clams (five photo limit, so no pictures of that). But time was running short and we had to head back to our pick up point.

The peaks reflected in the tide pools really caught my eye.

About The Photographer

I like to take pictures as a visual diary of our trips. I am influenced by NPS photographer George Grant's comment: Grant told the audience: “You fellows are living in the most beautiful parts of the country. You have pictures almost anywhere you look. If you haven’t already adopted photography as a hobby it is because there must be a screw loose somewhere.” Cited from the NPCA.org website reviewing "Landscapes for the People" by Ren and Helen Davis.
