Nat Hab's 2024 Guest Photo Contest

Coastal Brown Bear (Ursus arctos gyas), Kulic River Katmai, United States Of America
Mesmer"Eye"Zing

Species: Coastal Brown Bear (Ursus Arctos Gyas) | Location: Kulic River Katmai, United States Of America

A coastal brown bear looks coyly at me while enjoying a salmon filled with eggs, while the salmon eggs poor out over his paws. This photo was taken wearing chest waders in a river in Katmai National park in September of 2024 on the photo expedition. The camera was a Nikon z-9 with a Nikkor 180-600mm lens.

About The Photographer

Cropped mom and cub sharing a fish
This was our 6th nat hab trip and our second to Katmai. We also went to India and Churchill and Yellowstone and Patagonia. So far Katmai is hands down our favorite. I have been an amateur wildlife photographer for 8 years and a photography enthusiast for 40 years. I plan on doing photography more full time starting next year and will hopefully travel with nat hab many more times in the future.
