Species: Hyena | Location: Jacana Camp, Botswana
On June 26, 2024 our guide loaded us in the jeep and left Jacana Camp. Before long, we were at a hyena den and saw adults and their young. This youngster headed to the jeep and snatched the valve stem cap off the tire and took off running! He played with it for a few minutes before a larger hyena took it away. He then walked back to the jeep to try to snag another valve cap but our guide honked the horn
and the hyena stopped and looked at us with a “what the heck” look!
