Nat Hab's 2024 Guest Photo Contest

Species: Shoebill Stork | Location: Mabamba Swamp, Uganda

The first morning of my trip to Uganda I and some other guests took an extra trip to Mabamba Swamp.

I was expecting to maybe see a Shoebill off in the distance behind some vegetation but about 10 minutes after we boarded the boat to go out looking we came across this shoebill only 50 feet away from the boat and it did not seem to mind that we were there at all.

About The Photographer

I was mostly a casual photographer with point and shoots until about 2022 when I got my first SLR camera. I'm definitely still an amateur with a lot to learn from others. My Nathab guide in Costa Rica got me more interested in improving my photography rather than just documenting my trips. I've taken one photography oriented Nathab trip so far and I look forward to more.
