About The Photographer
I always loved taking pictures. Walking around, even without my camera, my eye is always framing what I see as if to get the best shot. I’ve traveled to to many parts of the world, often off the beaten track, to places most people may never go. And once I'm there, whether shooting animals in their "natural habitat" or people going about their daily activities, I try to capture the essence of the place - the colors, the smells (yes – even in a picture) and just everyday life. My earlier years were focused on people and I would try to capture their faces as they smiled at me. There is nothing like standing in a market watching someone go about their daily routine, and having them suddenly look up and give you a big smile. But more recently, my focus has shifted to wildlife. There is something so primal about watching an animal in the wild. And when you feel like they are looking right at you, you look into their eyes and see their soul. It is magical. And I try to capture that magic with my camera.Vote for this photo in the Nat Hab's 2024 Guest Photo Contest People’s Choice Awards!
