Dominant Silver Back from the Rushegura Group. Taken in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage site in southwestern Uganda.
After a challenging trek deep into the forest over rugged terrain led by expert trackers, our determination was rewarded. We encountered a display of power and dominance as two gorilla families got too close to one another. Kabukojo beat on his chest as a warning to the other nearby family several times. It was incredible to be able to witness this in the wild.
