Within the Serengeti National Park we came upon a herd of wildebeests with a Giraffe and Zebra mixed in. All of a sudden the Giraffe and Zebra decided to look at the camera and I snapped.
About The Photographer
I became interested in photography at the age of 13 after seeing the movie “Blow-Up”. After purchasing a Nikkormat with a 50mm lens and setting up a darkroom in a basement closet, I started photographing my neighborhood in South Brooklyn. I was particularly interested in street photography and studied the works of Diane Arbus and Gary Winogrand. I was pleased that most people were receptive to having a young teenager take their picture. I now concentrate on travel, wildlife and people photography. I like trying to capture the subtle things that reflect the essence of a person or place. I’m a neuroradiologist and have been in practice for over 40 years. I believe I was drawn to a career in radiology from my love of photography as both have obvious visual similarities.Vote for this photo in the Nat Hab's 2024 Guest Photo Contest People’s Choice Awards!
