Species: Sandhill Crane | Location: Yellowstone National Park, United States Of America
A sandhill crane feeds it's young in a grassy field inside Yellowstone National Park. On our way out of the park, our guides spotted two adult sandhill cranes in a field. Once we got into position to get our shots, we noticed the crane chicks in the tall grass. In order to get this shot, we had to stand on top of a rock and manually focus on the chick because of its position in the tall grass. Sandhill crane chicks are sometimes also called colts because of their ability to start running just 24 hours after birth.
