Species: Brown Bear | Location: Brooks Falls, Katimai National Park And Preserve, United States Of America
A brown bear stands motionless at the base of Brooks Falls in Katmai National Park in Alaska, as water rushes all around. Each summer numerous brown bears spend their time above and below the waterfall waiting to catch a tasty snack during the salmon run. I was a relatively new photographer at the time, and had gone to Brooks Falls with the objective of capturing a shot of silky water swirling around a bear. With the help of NatHab's photographic guide, who directed me as to the best camera settings and gear (tripod, ND Filter) for this shot, I was able to get the shot.
