Mountain Gorilla In The Shadows
Species: Mountain Gorilla | Location: Virungas Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda
We were with NatHab in Rwanda's Virungas Volcanoes area and had climbed 1000 ft up one of the mountains to view a Mountain Gorilla family. I spotted a female gorilla watching us from the shadows. All I could see was her face as she silently studied us. I was able to photograph her face highlighted by multiple shadows from surrounding vegetation before she slipped back into the darkness.
