Species: Milvago Chimango | Location: Patagonia, Argentina
This is an in flight photo of a chimango caracara photographed at ranch in Patagonia when we stopped for a snack on our way to the glacier. It was photographed with the glacier in the background, although very blurred out. The caracara was initially perched on a fence post and flew down to catch some lunch then back to the post. I set up for his next flight and waited; and was able to get this shot.
About The Photographer
This was our 6th nat hab trip and our second to Katmai. We also went to India and Churchill and Yellowstone and Patagonia. So far Katmai is hands down our favorite. I have been an amateur wildlife photographer for 8 years and a photography enthusiast for 40 years. I plan on doing photography more full time starting next year and will hopefully travel with nat hab many more times in the future.Vote for this photo in the Nat Hab's 2024 Guest Photo Contest People’s Choice Awards!
