Species: Coastal Brown Bear (Ursus Arctos Gyas) | Location: Kulic River Katmai, United States Of America
This is a momma coastal brown bear with her yearling cub posing on the beach in a most majestic fashion while warily avoiding an approaching large male bear that was approaching from the left. The disinterested male bear let them exit stage right without any concern.
About The Photographer
This was our 6th nat hab trip and our second to Katmai. We also went to India and Churchill and Yellowstone and Patagonia. So far Katmai is hands down our favorite. I have been an amateur wildlife photographer for 8 years and a photography enthusiast for 40 years. I plan on doing photography more full time starting next year and will hopefully travel with nat hab many more times in the future.Vote for this photo in the Nat Hab's 2024 Guest Photo Contest People’s Choice Awards! You can vote once per day, and each time you vote you’ll be entered for the chance to win a $500 Visa Gift Card or a $500 WWF Donation.
