Species: Leopard Tortoise | Location: Okavango Delta South, Botswana
I expected – hoped - to encounter elephants, lions and leopards in Botswana, but I never expected to see a leopard tortoise like this big guy! He was so charming that I couldn't resist not only taking his photo but also filming him, even though the video turned out to be in slow motion! The tortoise was stunning, effortlessly navigating through the bushes. I was captivated by his unique gait; with his short, stubby legs, he seemed to move his left front leg and back right leg in unison, followed by the opposite side. It was a mesmerizing sight, and I found myself completely absorbed in his deliberate journey.
